Preparing the Wildflower Meadow

Yesterday was a big day. We used a rototiller to tear the old lawn on the west side of the property to shreds to prepare it for a meadow. Last year we had let this area grow wild to see what decided to grow here naturally. While we did get some surprises in what naturally occurring wildflowers grew it was going to need some assistance. After the fallow field was tilled we began the process of spreading a mix of annual and perennial wildflower seeds from American Meadows. Here is to hoping for some good spring rains to get the meadow off to a great start!

We will try and keep you updated on the progress as it grows. Stay tuned.
